Seven New Doctors in Baton Rouge to Care for You

Primary Care:
Daniela Cardozo, M.D. joins Ochsner’s Family Medicine Department in Denham Springs. Dr. Cardozo earned her degree from La Universidad del Zulia in Maracaibo in Venezuela. She later completed her residency at the University of Nebraska in the Department of Family Medicine.

Randy Lamartiniere, M.D. joins Ochsner’s Internal Medicine Department. Dr. Lamartiniere earned his medical degree and completed his internship and residency at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport. He is board certified in internal medicine.  Dr. Lamartiniere joins Ochsner Health Center – Baton Rouge from Ochsner’s Covington location.

Vivek R. Huilgol, M.D. joins Ochsner’s Gastroenterology Department. Dr. Huilgol earned his bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery degrees at Flinder’s University of South Australia. He then completed his internal medicine residency at the Aurora-Sinai Program in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Huilgol completed two fellowships in gastroenterology and hepatology at Aurora-Sinai Program and Medical College Wisconsin. He completed his final fellowship of Advanced Gastroenterology Training at the LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. He is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine.

Erin Dauterive, M.D. joins Ochsner’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Department. Dr. Dauterive received her undergraduate degree in general studies at LSU.  She then attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport, where she received honors for graduating with the highest GPA.  Dr. Dauterive recently completed her residency in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Program with Ochsner Clinic Foundation where she continued to receive honors for her performance.  Her special interests include adolescent gynecology and minimally invasive surgery.

Alexander Mulamula, M.D. joins Ochsner’s Pulmonary Department. Dr. Mulamula received his master’s of medicine and general surgery at the University of Nairobi. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he also served as a Critical Care Technician and Chief Resident. Dr. Mulamula completed two fellowships with Norwalk Hospital in Connecticut in pulmonary and critical care medicine, and sleep medicine. Dr. Mulamula is board certified in both pulmonary medicine and internal medicine.  His special interest include sleep disorders in children.


Dudley Atkinson, M.D. joins Ochsner’s Urology Department.  Dr. Atkinson graduated from LSU with a degree in petroleum engineering.   Afterwards, he joined the US Navy as a submarine officer and retired as a Lieutenant Commander to pursue medicine. While in the Navy, he attended the Naval Postgraduate School in the Space Systems Engineering curriculum and obtained master’s degrees in physics and engineering science.  He later graduated from the Tulane University School of Medicine and trained in the LSU/Ochsner Urology Residency in New Orleans where he was Chief Resident.  Dr. Atkinson’s special interests include robotic and laparoscopic surgeries.

O. Joseph Dean, Jr., M.D. joins Ochsner’s Urology Department. Dr. Dean earned his undergraduate degree in physics at Howard University in Washington, D.C. He then attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Dr. Dean completed his residency in general surgery at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio. He completed fellowships at both Howard University and Tulane University schools of surgery and urology. In addition to his training, Dr. Dean is board certified in urology.   His special interests include female urology and incontinence surgery, sacral nerve stimulation for overactive bladder, Botox injections for neurogenic bladder disease and prostatic hypertrophy, no-incision vasectomy, and implantation of testosterone pellets.   Dr. Dean is trained in robotic surgery.
